Groundwater recharge distribution due to snow cover in shortage conditions (2019–22) on the Gran Sasso carbonate aquifer (Central Italy)

چکیده
Abstract Aquifer recharge by the snowpack is relevant to be assessed evaluate groundwater availability in mountainous karst regions. The due Gran Sasso aquifer has previously been estimated through an empirical approach using elevation gradients. To validate and quantify coverage persistence of over time objective method, satellite images have analysed. Campo Imperatore plain, endorheic basin acting as a preferential area aquifer, plays important role, both for snow cover also infiltration springs. identification areas validated stable isotope with assessment computed based on values oscillations δ 18 O recorded at main findings confirm high rate plain its direct influence contribution recharge. extension out this minor recharge, highlighting that drivers are fractured networks karstic forms more than carbonate outcrops.

The CERN-Gran Sasso Neutrino Program
Among the various recent experimental results concerning neutrino physics, two of them give very strong hints for the existence of an oscillation mechanism and they are driving the main motivations for the future projects. The first one is the clear νμ disappearance observed by SuperKamiokande, SoudanII and Macro in the atmospheric data which can be very well described by the presence of νμ → ν...
متن کاملNeutrinos from CERN to Gran Sasso: The CNGS project
The CNGS project (CERN Neutrinos to Gran Sasso) has been approved to make an unambiguous and direct observation of νμ − ντ oscillations. An intense and relatively pure νμ beam is generated at CERN and directed towards LNGS (Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso) in Italy. Two experiments, OPERA already started in 2007 and ICARUS T600, will try to detect tau neutrinos using large and complex detec...
متن کاملEffects of Antecedent Hydrogeologic Conditions on Flood Magnitude and Recharge to the Floridan Aquifer in North- Central Florida
Water is one of our most important resources. Both surface water and groundwater are used by humans for drinking, irrigation, transportation, entertainment, and are a major service for ecosystems. Almost all surface water features, such as streams, rivers, and lakes, interact with groundwater by exchanging water between these two reservoirs. Surface water can become polluted depending on land u...

In this overview of the MACRO experiment we recall the structure of the detector and discuss several physics topics: atmospheric neutrinos and neutrino oscillations, high energy neutrino astronomy, searches for WIMPs and for low energy stellar gravitational collapse neutrinos, stringent upper limits on GUT magnetic monopoles, high energy downgoing muons, primary cosmic ray composition and shado...
متن کاملGamma background measurements in the Gran Sasso National Laboratory
In situ gamma-ray measurements were taken at eight locations in the Gran Sasso National Laboratory (Italy). Count rates for gamma radiation within the energy range of 7-2,734 keV varied from 8 to 60 γ s-1. The arithmetic mean was 49 γ s-1 for measurements taken without a collimator. The average gamma flux inside the Lab was 0.25 γ cm-2 s-1. The sedimentary rocks surrounding the Lab are characte...
